How to Protect Your Mobile Phone using Lock Code (Tip: 2)

Turning on your lock code will protect your phone from unauthorized access or using your phone such as inserting other SIM cards or Turning ON and OFF your mobile phone. It gives you also security level (though there is a way of reformatting your phone without your lock code but this cannot be done by ordinary user) in case your phone is stolen. If they will change the SIM card of your phone it will prompt them to enter the lock code which you have set. If they cannot provide the correct lock code they cannot use your mobile phone.

Follow the steps on how to enable your lock code.

1. Open your Settings Menu
2. Select Phone
3. Select Phone Management
4. Select Security
5. Select Phone and SIM Card
6. If you haven't set your lock code its default is 12345. Select Lock Code. Enter your lock code. Enter new lock code then enter your Verified new lock code. If successfully changed a pop message will confirm you that you have changed it successfully.
7. Select Lock if SIM card changed. Set to Yes
8. Optionally you can set Remote phone locking to Enable status.

To test if security will take effect, change your phone SIM card. Your Phone will then ask the lock code. If you have entered your lock code your phone will remember the newly entered SIM card as authorized therefore the second time around it will no longer ask for a lock code. Interestingly when you turn off and turn on your mobile phone it will naturally ask your lock code.

Note: Entering wrong lock code several times will NOT block your phone. Lock code is not like SIM PIN Code that will block your SIM after several attempts of entering incorrect PIN Code.

Below are the screen shots on how to set up your lock code.
